We needed to make one that makes people who love those three movies feel like they’re seeing a long-lost friend. What the franchise needs is exactly what you just said. It comes down to, what are you really trying to do with it? I felt very strongly, and discussed this with Donna Langley and everybody, that I can’t reboot the franchise, it wasn’t what it needed.
